The promise of warmer weather has golfers finally dusting off their clubs and getting out to the course. It’s time to get some practice! After all, Golf for Compassion is less than 2 short weeks away! Hole sponsorships are coming in, golfer’s prizes are being ordered and Compassion Corps is making plans with Penn Oaks’ staff to ensure that our golfers have an amazing experience on April 21st.
But with all the focus on golf, it’s important not to forget that when the day on the course is all said and done, the doors to the beautiful banquet hall swing open to welcome the golfers and 100+ additional guests to Compassion Corps’ annual, premier fundraising event – the Cup of Compassion banquet!
In 2013, the first Cup of Compassion evening banquet featured hors d’oeuvres and a buffet dinner and dessert, which were enjoyed by guests as they browsed African marketplace handcrafts, bid on silent auction items, listened to the sound of live music and heard from several speakers. Overall, the event was a huge success, raising thousands of dollars for Compassion Corps projects and providing guests with an evening of food, fellowship and entertainment.
Most importantly, though, the event served as a platform for education and engagement. Guests learned all about the history and future plans of the organization and had an opportunity to consider how they might be able to get more involved.
This year, Compassion Corps staff members are working hard to ensure that this first class event is even better than last year! 2014’s Cup of Compassion banquet will feature a shortened program, providing guests with more time to browse and bid and simply enjoy chatting with one another. Last year, the new coffee enterprise was introduced during its pre-launch phase and guests were able to sample the first “Justice Java” blend. This year, the update on the fully developing coffee business is sure to be a highlight of the evening!
Returning guests are also anticipating another great selection of items to be available in the extensive silent auction. Come prepared to bid on items ranging from weeks at vacation homes to theater tickets, artwork, jewelry and more! Compassion Corps is able to accommodate cash, check or credit card purchases as, this year, we are happy to announce that we are fully capable of processing major credit cards.
This year, the update on the fully developing coffee business and the extensive silent auction shopping experience are sure to be highlights of the evening!
Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of what Compassion Corps is doing to engage hearts and unleash hope! Come get updated, find out how you can help…and enjoy an amazing evening in the process.
Tickets are $50 for adults and $20 for children. Registration for the banquet is open online, so don’t wait ! We look forward to seeing you there.
Remember, this year you can shop with credit cards and you can even prepare beforehand for your shopping experience by checking out the list of silent auction items, which is being updated daily as new items are donated!
