Chris was born in Philadelphia, grew up in King of Prussia, resided in Narberth before marrying Charlie, and has lived for almost 30 years in Media. She counts it a privilege to have enjoyed making her home in walkable communities throughout her entire life.
Chris graduated with a degree in linguistics and, as part of a mid-life career change, added a Masters of Education. She has worked at a variety of jobs, including marketing analysis and teaching children with language-based learning differences. Retired since 2001, she has had the opportunity to travel a bit and also to spend time with family members as they face challenges.
Her first short-term service trip experience was with Media Presbyterian Church in their summer ministry in Mars Hill, NC, working primarily on construction projects. She participated on these summer teams for many years, and enjoyed serving on MPC teams to Guatemala three times, mostly working with children and in the pharmacy. Chris was a member of the first Compassion Corps trip to Morocco in 2005, gaining a better understanding of the tragic situation of abandoned children and the opportunity to help the helpless. Appreciating the beauty there as well as the great needs of women and children, Chris set her heart to be open to whatever vision God would give her as to how she could be of help.
As she looked for ways to increasingly show the love of God in her everyday life, she determined to be a good steward of all that He has blessed her with. For the past 5 years, Chris has been a major supporter of the work of Compassion Corps, and we are so excited that she has recently joined the staff so as to be of even further help through lending her wisdom, insight, talents, & great sense of humor to the team.
